VISUAL ARTS COURSE PROJECTS
The IBDP Visual arts subject course allowed me to push the limits of my creative and cultural potential , investigating and challenging technical proficiency while developing new abilities in confidence. I learned skills of problem-solving and methods to think outside the box. I participated and experimented in a wide range of contemporary practices and media to compare techniques and new perspectives in various situations.
I was able to find that I have a passion for fashion, encouraging me to explore clothing and my personal style for my Visual Arts project. In this exhibition, I chose to explore the concept of emotions and feelings through a variety of visual mediums, targeting a different perspective than normal. I want the audience to understand the feelings that are being communicated in each artwork, highlighting the disparity between words and visuals. I have chosen this theme because feelings are often expressed through words, not conveying true meanings on a deep level. I wanted to exhibit my perceptive knowledge and understanding of these emotions since I have already experienced them before. These artworks convey my imagination and creativity of a feeling, addressing an artistic perspective. I included elements and principles to what I associate concepts with, through the use of material, color, shape, emphasis, and texture. My work showcases my interpretation of feeling trapped, controlled, not knowing who you are, overthinking, confidence, torment, etc. I chose to portray emotions and feelings through fashion as it is a unique form of expression that the audience has to interpret for themselves. I believe people can express their individuality and personality through clothes. What people wear when they go out or stay at home identifies the person they are and feelings they are experiencing.
